To Friends of Ed Opps

Thank you for your continued and heartfelt support of the U-DREAM Scholarship Fund for undocumented immigrant students. Your generosity has been a lifeline for many pursuing their dreams despite immense challenges.

As we approach 2025, uncertainty weighs heavily on undocumented communities. Now more than ever, your support is vital in helping these students achieve their educational goals. As one student put it, “Whatever happens, no one can take away my education.”

This Giving Tuesday season, we extend an invitation to join us in empowering these remarkable students by contributing directly to our Scholarship Fund. Through our partnership with the Somos Foundation, every dollar raised will go exclusively to scholarships for undocumented students.

We are striving to reach our goal of $5,000, and thanks to your generosity, we’ve already raised $3,150. Let’s come together to bridge the gap and ensure these students have the opportunities they deserve.

No contribution is too small—it all adds up to creating brighter futures for those who need it most.

Thank you for standing with us and for believing in the transformative power of education.

With deep gratitude,
The Ed Opps Team

New Partnership with The Utah Somos Foundation

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with The Utah Somos Foundation to award college scholarships.

Walter Franco, President of Ed Opps, is now serving as a member of the Somos Board of Directors and will act as liaison with U-DREAM scholars. He will continue to advocate for undocumented students and ensure that funds raised by Ed Opps will be awarded to those students.

2023-2024 U-DREAM SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

IMG_5282.jpeg

Thanks to a generous grant from IME Becas Program in Mexico, ongoing support from Consulado de México en Salt Lake City and generous donations from private donors, we awarded 26 IME Becas/U-DREAM Scholarships to students attending 8 Utah colleges and universities during the 2023-2024 school year..

All scholarships were used by active students pursuing post-secondary education. We are still waiting to receive end-of year reports from each of them, but so far they report tremendous success in pursuing their educational goals.

THANK YOU to the donors who make this possible.

Congratulations U-DREAM Scholars!
